My name is Daphne (call me Daph) and I am based in the beautiful town of Squamish, BC. 🏔
My goal is to bring you tasty Asian dishes - things that I eat at home! I LOVE food and I am excited to share this with you. 🍚

Who are you? 🤔
Born and bred in Malaysia, I grew up eating a variety of food across all different cultures. In Asia, expressing love = feeding you good food.
I never once cooked in my formative years, but this all changed when I moved to Sydney for university and was plunged into a new world where I had to feed myself.
Very quickly, I found that cooking brought me so much joy and it became my creative outlet.
I enjoyed the entire process - from finding recipes to sourcing groceries, prepping, researching the best ways to cook and the most important part, feeding myself and the people around me.
Humble beginnings
Ling Ling Canteen existed in my head for years, but truth be told, I never had to courage to pursue this wholeheartedly as I always regarded it as 'just a hobby'.
However, this all changed in February 2020 when this wee thing called COVID swept through the world and gave me an entire new perspective and an opportunity to do things differently.
It started with 1 Facebook posts on a local group where I sold 8 jars of kimchi. It gave me the confidence to believe in myself and the courage to expand my offerings with the goal and purpose of wanting to share tasty, Asian home-cooked food that I eat myself with you.
